Chicken of the Woods Plug Spawn - 100 count

Package includes 100 Chicken of the Woods mushroom plug spawn.

A plug spawn is a small wooden cylinder that contains mushroom mycelium.  Mycelium is all you need to start growing mushrooms.  To begin your plug spawn you should choose a hardwood log or stump. After you have a suitable home, drill evenly spaced holes roughly the same diameter as your plug spawn around the log or stump. Once your holes are drilled, insert them around the log and seal with wax.  Mushrooms will begin to develop after 9-12 months.

Springtime will provide the best conditions for the fungi to take hold as the fungus should be kept from freezing in the first month and a half.
