How long does this mushroom kit last?
After the sixteen week initial fruiting period, the shiitake mushroom kit can be extended by cultivating the sawdust grow medium outdoors onto hardwood logs outdoors. In this way you can continue to enjoy shiitakes for many subsequent fruitings.
Please note if you are giving the mushroom patch as a gift:
You can hold the shiitake mushroom patch kit for about a month before the mycelium spores begin to expire. Be sure the kit is activated within thirty days of receipt. Especially important if giving as a gift.
